Dresscode, guidelines and traditions
Our wedding ceremony will be a religious celebration held in the Royal Chapel of Seville Cathedral, one of the city’s most significant religious, historical and cultural landmarks.
Spanish daytime weddings traditionally follow a more specific dress code than evening celebrations and, given the sacred and historic setting of our ceremony, we kindly ask all our guests to dress formally and respectfully. The guidelines below combine traditional Spanish daytime wedding etiquette with the dress requirements appropriate for a religious ceremony in the Cathedral.

Dresscode – Men
Gentlemen who are not part of the testigos/groom’s witness party wear a classic suit with a shirt and tie.
Suits should be blue or grey, in shades appropriate for a formal daytime wedding. This means no camel, no beige, or other light and summer colors.
A tie is required. Bow ties are not accepted.
Shoes should be classic and formal dress shoes.
Trainers, sports shoes and sandals are not accepted.
(Note from Kenneth: We will have temperatures from 20-22 degrees during the day, but colder in the afternoon evening – 14-17. So it is not a Summer wedding, just because we have sun – so no summer suits 🙂 )
Dresscode – Women
For the ceremony, shoulders, décolletage and the upper thighs should be appropriately covered. Dresses with very low necklines, excessively revealing cuts or very short skirts are therefore not accepted for the Cathedral.
Dresses and skirts should fall anywhere from below the knee to the ankle.
As this is a daytime Spanish wedding, floor-length dresses and evening gowns are not considered appropriate according to traditional daytime wedding etiquette.
Elegant tailored trousers are also welcome, paired with a sophisticated blouse, shirt or jacket. Refined trouser suits are equally appropriate. Whichever option you choose, the overall look should be formal and suitable for a religious wedding ceremony.
Shoes should be elegant and formal. Heels, pumps, slingbacks and sophisticated flats are all appropriate. Trainers, sports shoes and casual sandals are not accepted.
White, ivory and cream are reserved exclusively for the bride.
